LIFE is full of TRANSITIONS... Family Transitions LLC aims to help individuals, couples and families cope with these changes and/or the issues in their lives by providing counseling and mediation designed to meet their needs.
I work with clients to empower them to cope with and manage their anxiety, depression, grief, loss, trauma, stress, relationships and other issues affecting their lives. I am committed to supporting individuals, couples and families by providing services that encourage personal growth and well-being.
I earned my Master of Arts in Psychological Counseling degree from Nicholls State University in December of 2001 and became a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in 2005. While working on my degree and license requirements, I was a counselor intern at an elementary school, a counselor at a family and youth center, a counselor at a mental health center and a program director at a foster and adoptive family program. After receiving my license, I started a part-time private practice named FAMILY TRANSITIONS, LLC in Houma and started seeing clients at my office. I worked as a crisis counselor for a hurricane recovery program, a social services administrator and counselor at a group home for foster children and a counselor working with Early Steps families. I attended Divorce Mediation training at Loyola University New Orleans School of Law in 2005 and am qualified to provide divorce/family mediation to couples/families wanting to develop a plan for their future.
I am currently in network with the following health insurance companies: Aetna, Blue Cross, Gilsbar, Humana, UMR and United Healthcare (Not contracted with Medicaid or Medicare).
